The Holy Grail?

We have ridden the length and breadth of the land, charged by God with a sacred quest. We seek food and shelter for the night, & on the morrow, we continue our quest for the Holy Grail.

The BUPA Great North Run awaits us.

After a spot of tea, coffee, cakes & slices at the Allendale Tea Rooms (we highly recommend), & fighting the urges of an impending nap, we ventured into Hexham for a wander & some fresh air. We visited a number of times before, but we've never been inside the Abbey. Today was different. It is quite stunning inside, the architecture is a wonder & the stain glass windows are magnificent & colourful.

We couldn't fend off nap time any longer, & some do swear by the daily nap as part of their race training (who are we to argue!?), & so we crashed for an hour - delightful. We continued our carb loading by stuffing ourselves on Jenny's spag bol & have sat down to see out our final evening of rest before the Run by watching Monty Python & the Holy Grail. An immense classic.

A shrubbery you say..?

Thank you for all your support & kind words on our quest. It nears its end. In the morning we join 56,000 runners in the heart of Newcastle to enjoy & take part in the biggest half marathon in the world. The weather prediction: diabolical. Wish us luck!
