Mementoes

It was a beautiful sunny morning and I started out by hanging out#3 son's washing. He'd had a hard day yesterday, was home at 1.30am and out at 7. He's off back to Aber tomorrow so a little bit of tlc does no harm.

Then to work and 2 new starts. That took most of the day and an awful lot of talking.

I've spent the evening doing not very much. Ann old problem has come back and I'm not sure how to tackle it.

The glass on the display shelves is memories. I can tell you where I got every piece, from family, friends, bought myself and then the matching pottery bought on happier times past in Lyons and Spain.

Edit: The memories:

Top left to right:
An empty liqueur bottle given to us (full) by Inverurie friends
Herb oil lamp, birthday present, from #1 son and H, his then girlfriend
Venetian glass decanter, rescued from a jumble sale 40 years ago

middle left to right
Arras house (empty of biscuits) present from French cousin bout 20 years ago
empty Limoncello bottle, brought back from holiday by #1 son (full!)

bottom
two small glass vases - rescued from that jumble sale
two multi coloured pottery night light holders - bought on holiday in Sierra Nevada, Andalucia
Matching large plate bought in the ancien quartier, Lyons, 2005
Blue glass heart - bought, by me, in Castle Street.

and two thank you cards, from ages ago.
