A Monkey's Tale

Sheffield Park

On the turn?

Jenny & I have had a wonderfully relaxing day. We ventured to Crowborough to visit the home of Gill for a couple of reflexology treatments, long overdue for myself, but it was Jenny's first time. As ever, it was great! Gill's a master of sole soothing & soul centering. We're very grateful for her welcoming us into her home on a Sunday morning. We we're both in need of a little treatment. The time was just right.

Jen having had a mini-nap whilst in the hot seat, & me fighting imminent doziness, we then made our way to Sheffield Park, & we weren't the only people who did so. It was no surprise that the Park was a popular destination on a beautiful, sunny October day - it was gorgeous! We regained some strength in the café via a cheeky cheese scone & a cuppa, & then began our wanderings. The lakes were perfectly serene, only disturbed by the ripple of fish coming to the surface, & the gentle paddling of ducks & a lone swan. Some stunning autumn crocuses in purple & white stood out against the greens & array of reds & browns. It's beginning to turn. I hope to come back in a month or so to capture the richer colours of autumn in full swing. It's a beautiful place.

We even managed to take to our own little patch as dusk set in. Our flower bed was much in need of spruce up, having been left to it's own devices during the summer, & we worked away until pitch black.

Ah, that's better.
