Life is a Challenge!

PINK DAY 12 - SOMEONE HAD TO DO IT.....

…..so it might as well be me!

Popped into town this morning and was speaking to the ladies on the lingerie counter in Marks & Spencer about this being Breast Cancer Awareness Month - so they pointed me to a sign above a model wearing a pink bra - I told them about blipping and asked if it was OK for me to take a photograph. They said it was, kindly moved the model and the sign, so here is my take on PINK for today for the Breast Cancer Awareness Month or my Pinktober Challenge.

Interestingly, I was talking to my neighbour last night who said that she had taken issue with a member of staff at a large supermarket in Swindon that has a campaign to raise money called "Tickled Pink".

I checked it out online and although it is laudable that since it started, the store has raised £29 million for breast cancer charities, my neighbour who is a survivor said that she wasn't "tickled pink" to be told she had breast cancer. She is certainly not a whinger, nor is she super-sensitive, but I could feel her pain just talking to her and I could see where she was coming from, having looked up the meaning of the phrase :

To be "tickled pink" means to be delighted about something, or to be in a state of excitement and joy.

Please remember to click here so that someone can have a free mammogram.

I found this quote, which is appropriate for today :

There is a thin line that separates
laughter and pain,
comedy and tragedy,
humor and hurt.
