The sumach leaves are a glorious colour at this time of year. Many years ago we planted one. It stayed as one tree for quite a few years then eventualy keeled over of old age. For sumachs, death is just a temporary phase because very soon after a whole herd of suckers arrive fighting to take it's place.

Which is great if you have a large garden and fancy a free forest.

New IAM associate out for the first drive this morning.

The afternoon was mostly tidying and sorting and odd-jobbering - working towards clearing the garage to get the car in.

This evening E and I went to a CUMS concert at West Road. Mozart Magic Flute overture, and Clarinet concerto (excellent!), and Beethoven's 5th. Very good all round for a student orchestra.

Meanwhile J and Ellis are at a gig at The Junction. Probably equally enoyable, but a bit different!
