'Early Rise'

Last night we were all really cold sleeping in the tent as we didn't bring enough blankets and warm sleeping bags. I woke up before dawn while the rest of the family were still fast asleep and went for a pre dawn walk along one of the tracks to McLeods Lookout about 1km from the camp site.

I found out later that I had actually walked straight past the lookout as the sign had been broken and was missing. I kept walking another few hundred metres and found this little patch of rattlesnake grass being backlit from the rising sun. Layed down on the rocks and shot a couple of shots here before heading back to camp to see if anyone else was awake yet. They weren't.

Collected some firewood, and made a campfire to boil up the billy for a cup of tea and to cook breakfast on.

Once everyone else was up, dressed and fed, we headed in to Bendigo for some camping supplies that we'd forgotten to take with us and also picked up a couple of extra sleeping bags. Then off to the grocery store for more food supplies, by this time Dylan was feeling really sick with a very sore throat and sore legs. We were wondering if we'd have to go and pack up camp to head home as he was really in a bad way, but after a bit of medicine and some anticol lozengers he started to feel better around tea time. We think he might have been dehydrated and hadn't eaten enough. Anyway the next morning after a better nights sleep he was feeling much better.
