Exuberance in Udaipur

Apologies that I this is a back blip. It has been so busy this week and the internet has been intermittent.

This morning was planned to be quiet. Each of us had a session with JP to see how we are doing on the photography front. We had time to explore the grounds of the hotel.

I went to watch the horses at the stud but quickly noticed that a group of boy had arrived and were preparing to play cricket. They were friendly and happy to be photographed.

In the afternoon we went to the palace. It was crammed with people, mainly Indian tourists. We were much photographed as we photographed them. The palace is well worth a visit, but don't go in the afternoon if you want a peaceful time. The Indian tourists were all determined to enjoy themselves and we were infected by their joyous spirits.

This evening we went to see a performance of traditional dances, puppetry and music. I've chosen this image because it sums up the day. The dances are full of energy and are enjoying themselves. The audience, mainly Indians, were excited and enthusiastic. They clapped and shrieked. I loved it all.

Best large to see everyone's faces.
