Dunkeld Duet

Dunkeld is not just a pretty Highland village - it is also a well-known centre of the folk scene in Scotland. Dozens of tunes have been composed here by famous fiddler Neil Gow whose tunes form the backstay of Scottish country dance music.

I don't know the story behind these two metal musicians on display outside the local hall, but they are certainly eccentric-looking and attract a lot of merriment. The Duchess Anne Hall has been a school, furniture store, drill hall/armoury, and restaurant before it became the parish hall.

Today I have a meeting in Edinburgh but took this before boarding the train. Great to have a train service from this Highland village that will take me to the capital in under 2 hours.
