Nymphaeamaniac

Been thinking about Monet since his birthday yesterday. I went down to the lake this morning. Strangely the ducks were absent. I was struck by how the water was fairly featureless, even though the sun was shining brightly. Not so in areas where the waterlilies grow though. No flowers at this time of year but the foliage generates a myriad pinpoints of light. Beautiful bokeh. Monet painted his lily studies in his garden when he was affected by cataracts. I totally get it now. I'm a nymphaemaniac too. :)
