Powell's Candy Shoppe

Up early to see Matt and Amy and the girls off and have a little pumpkin pie for breakfast. Dana and family left for a basketball game in Napa, and we had a "picnic" lunch under the arbor with Tim and Maya and Owen. Owen ate more than I have ever seen him eat. Perhaps it was watching Tim run up and down the 25 steps to the house for seconds. Ozzie has generally worn himself out lurking underfoot, waiting for bits of food to drop to the floor, so he relaxed in the sun as well.

Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, because Owen loved watering the lettuce under OilMan's watchful eye. Pop's not too good at delegating, so it was a big step up for them both.

An afternoon trip to Powell's, an old fashioned candy store, netted us a big bag full of candy for our decorating the gingerbread house in a couple of weeks. If our luck holds, the kids will continue to get along with each other (without driving us crazy) and we'll make tacos with left over pork or chicken marinated in OilMan's patented mojo marinade.

It will be hard to get back to our quiet routine once everybody has gone home....
