Life in Sunny Dubai

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree . . .

What a great day! Woke up with my own body alarm clock at 7:30 and made myself a cup of tea; then had a cooked breakfast (woo hoo!), then had a little potter around got our Christmas tree and decorations down from various cupboards.

I honestly cannot remember the last time the tree was put up in the flat. Nice to see everything still intact - even after the move. Did it all to favourite Christmas CDs including one that was big band jazz! And in the evening - we had three young Filipino lads knock on the door! They were raising money for disaster relief in the Philippines by singing Christmas carols! And they REALLY could sing too! Brilliant.

The big thing we missed today was Carols in the Desert that G really wanted to go to - but there just isn't time with everything that is on at the moment. AND it was really really sad to hear that Nelson Mandela died. The company I work for tried several times to bring him to Dubai as a speaker at one of our flagship events (8 years ago), but he declined wanting to live a quiet life.
