Christmas For The Mission School

This is the first grade class from the San Xavier Mission School, which is on the Tohono O'Odham Native American Reservation (same place as yesterday's blip), showing off (hugging) the plush stuffed toy they just received from Santa.

My Eastern States Club holds a party for the 1st through 4th grade classes every year. The children come with handmade cards for their sponsoring adult and we provide a traditional turkey dinner (including root beer!)

They perform their annual version of the Christmas Pageant. Children, especially at this time of year, are a gift to us. Santa gives every child a special present from the plush toys (pictured) to the Timex watches for the fourth graders.

The Club was also able to make a cash donation of $800 to the school.

The cost of the meals, gifts and the donation to the school is all provided for by donations from the members of the club.
