The Lozarithm Lens

Calne

After the Christmas bank holidays it is that rather odd time when the shops are open and postal deliveries are resumed but everything seems to be on hold. I went into Calne to get things in the Friday Market and at Fay's Bistro, but neither were open.

This is the River Marden at Beeches Terrace, running particularly fast and high after all the storms and rains of recent days, and also now a rather fetching muddy brown colour, though thankfully it hadn't burst its banks, thanks to flood-avoidance measures put in place further up the river after some bad flooding a few years ago.
