Daf 600

Today I enter my 600th blip - not that it's a mayor milestone, but it provides a nice topic for my 'Holland Promotion' journal.

When I hear the number 600 I have to think about our Dutch pride and joy…. the DAF 600 car.

One of the first automatic cars, as they had a 'variomatic' gearbox. I remember I already drove one of these on the west African compound of my parents in 1960 at the age of 5 !!!

Later this car brand DAF - which stands for Doornes Automabile Factory - was taken over by Volvo who kept producing them until 1980 as Volvo 66.

I considered it appropriate to portray this in a museum environment.

Tomorrow # 601…. that must be a Peugeot or so ;-)
