Meeting the big man

Finally Charlie got to meet Santa!

We actually had another failed attempt this morning at Kiddicare (still officially the worst baby shop in North London). They were holding a few Santa's workshop sessions where the kids would make Christmas decorations, sing songs and then meet the big guy. Admittedly it was booked up yesterday when I rang but they said it was likely some people wouldn't turn up. Typically, everyone did. At least, the 'elves' organising it said so as they immediately turned us away without even a glance at their list. Annoyingly when we were sat having tea in the cafe I saw a family arrive late so clearly it wasn't full when we enquired.

Anyhoo, rant aside we ended up going to the Wood Green mall and low and behold there was a grotto there with a reasonable queue and no silly prebooking nonsense. Charlie loved waiting as he got to stand at the mock fence staring at the huge Christmas tree and giant inflatable snowman, and he managed to get a handful of the polystyrene 'snow'.

He was very good when he did get put on Santa's lap. He didn't cry but then didn't really smile either- he was too bemused by the elf taking the picture. He got a lovely certificate and his first Christmas pressie to open- some bath toys.
