The Pecking Order

Pigeons don't have a very good press as they are everywhere. However, a piece of roll I tossed on to the grass this morning caught the immediate attention of the little squad of three that patrol the back garden on the lookout for the crumbs below the feeders when small birds are active.
The pigeon at the roll did not brook any attempt by its feathered friends to get in on the act until he had had his fill. The others just had to circle awaiting their turn.

As this is such an overdone subject I have given the grass some treatment to mute the colours.
