Beauty in decay here, with candle light giving a warm glow. Sitting in a crystal vase on my friend's fireplace.

We had lunch together, and I learned of her creative plans over the coming weeks. A lady of many talents, who worked a section of The Great Tapestry of Scotland. She made delicious minestrone soup. Dr H joined us unexpectedly, en route to the East Coast. Lovely to catch up.

The weather has worsened here this afternoon, very high winds and heavy rain which turned to snow.
