Like an Eagle that Stirs up its Nest

Over in Lenzie this evening. Two of The Band of Brothers were involved in a fundraising event at the Union Church for Operation Mobilisation, so we went along.

Great singing ... and drumming! Met several old friends afterwards, and talked about "way back when". Good to catch up. Something reassuring about driving down old familiar streets that haven't really changed much.

I spotted this banner as we left, beautifully worked. I like the quilting, and detail in the design. Inspired by the words found in Deuteronomy 32:10-11 in the Old Testament :-

In a desert land he found him,
in a barren and howling waste.
He shielded him and cared for him;
he guarded him as the apple of his eye,
like an eagle that stirs up its nest
and hovers over its young,
that spreads its wings to catch them
and carries them aloft.
