Sailing on.........

It was an odd kind of a day today........

Taught 3 periods in beautiful, warm, sunny weather then school finished at lunchtime ready for Senior Prizegiving in the afternoon. Sat through 2 hours of a wonderful celebreation of student achievement, culminating in the farewelling of our year 13's. It was an emotional time for many, but also a time for celebration as they ready themselves for life beyond school, further training, following their dreams, making new friends and growing the strong friendships they've formed during many years of school together. The end of one life phase, but the beginning of another.

At the end of the ceremony we made our way out of the hall into pouring rain and temperatures that had plumeted!!

This scene greeted me as I drove back home after an appointment in town at the end of the day........the yachts like our young men and women setting sail from their safe havens to launch themselves towards new horizons :)
