Dimanche

It was a wet, dreich dayAfte a long phone call with #1 son and d in l, taking orders and discussing the Malaysian education system, N and I started with a swim and then on the way back went to check out the wedding venue, well let N see it. They were flying the tricolore outside Prestonfield for the French guests who were staying there last night. And then of course there were the peacocks, one with its tail fanned in full glory. A very nice young man, S, came out and invited us in for a look around. Being in our trackies we didn't feel appropriately dressed but he demurred and said it was fine, as long as we weren't wearing crocs. we had a good look and N was very impressed. She'll be back in September.

Home to order the shopping requests and then off for lunch with the folks and #2 son, down to the seaside. Unfortunately it was a grey seaside, no blue sea and sky but we had an enjoyable lunch.

On the way home we popped in by Dobbies to collect the 'click and collect' . We took the scenic route as the driver #2 son, missed the turn off for the A720. Of course you don't just 'pop in' to Dobbies you buy lots of things you never thought you needed including a yucca, not mine! I think the baby things are justified though.

Back to the Manor where there was a frisson of concern when the key wouldn't work. Luckily dad and #2 son jiggled it until the door opened. Calling out a locksmith at 5 on a Sunday was not a good prospect.

After coffee and shortbread and having acquired a tv, we came home to watch tv and finish off the wine and watch some tv.

It was a good day and I was glad N was able to spend time with the folks and really happy I spoke to the #1s for over 50 minutes. Brings them closer.
