Early Spring In The Pecan Grove

The trees in the pecan grove are cut back to where you see the large thick trunks in the photo.  The new growth, which has been slowly developing during the late winter into this early Spring are the wispy branches that are flying in all different directions.

There are very tiny leaves growing on the tips of the branches, but nothing that my camera could pick up on this warm, but overcast, day.  I'm not sure how the exceptionally dry winter will effect this year's harvest.

Winter is usually a wet season for us.  I would guess that drought would play a role on all of the flora of the desert, in one manner or another.  Cash crops included.
