Marjorie's ramblings

We still miss you

When we first moved to Humshaugh, our local pub was run superbly by Julia and her husband, Robin. The food was excellent and the atmosphere happy and friendly. People could take their families of all ages, knowing they would be welcome.

Sadly for us, they had to move on because Robin, the chef, needed surgery to both feet. You can't really be a chef from a sitting position. The pub has never been as good since.

Today was the Tourism Fair in Hexham. We had a stall for Haltwhistle Walking Festival. (N.B. Next festival dates are April 26th - May 5th) It's a good day for networking with other service providers, but it was poorly advertised and attendance was low. In the afternoon, along came Julia. She and Robin now run a B & B and are loving it. It's an easier life than running a pub.

The light was all from high in the ceiling of the sports hall so difficult to take a good portrait. It was so good to see her, that I had to blip Julia.
