Last day

Well, today was Maddy's last day of school for the summer. She's delighted as she's now on her holidays.

With it being the last day they had a big assembly to say goodbye to the primary sevens as they will be at the high school after the summer. They get to sit on benches when the school has an assembly whereas the rest of the kids sit on the floor. Today, when they were called up to stand at the front while the head teacher said goodbye, the primary six kids got to put on the blue school sweatshirt which only the p7s get to wear and move onto the benches.

So here's Maddy modelling her brand new p7 sweatshirt haven taken her place on the benches today. It's hard to believe that after he summer she'll be starting her last year at primary school. It's also scary to think where the time has gone. In the room where I have my computer I have lots of photos round the walls and at the top right of one of the hangers I have put on blip there is a photo of Maddy's first day at primary school (if you're looking she's the wee smiling face in the centre of the top photo on the right hand side). It hardly seems like any time since she started at Leith Walk primary, and I know that's going to sink in even more over the coming year as she prepares to start at high school. She's had another excellent year at school with a brilliant report, particularly in English and Art and we're really proud of her.
