Thunder Mountain

Day seventy two of our holiday today!!
We thought we'd do something a bit different first thing and went into the Studios Park.
Again the weather was perfect and the Little Misses skipped all the way from the car to the entrance hand in hand. They're so happy!
The Studios were ace - really reminded me of the studio tours I've been on in LA. There was even a trompe l'oeil Hollywood sign which looked so realistic down at the end of the boulevard.
We went on the tram ride first round a couple of film sets - burning trucks and oil drums and thousands of gallons of water pouring over the tram, and a dragon ravaged London.
Then we queued for ages for a slinky dog ride which lasted about 45 seconds. It was no Thunder Mountain and Miss E was not impressed!
Then we went back into Disneyland for more of the same: Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz, Pocahontas park action, Thunder Mountain.
The measuring at Thunder Mountain was hilarious. We'd told Miss L to breathe in and stretch tall like a giraffe rather than stand on tiptoes. She breathed in as hard as she could and did something indescribable with her head - lifting her shoulders up to her ears and leaning forward with bug eyes. I was desperate to get a photo but thought that might have looked a bit suss!
Buzz again and then Miss L and I went on The Orbitron which was the Discoveryland version of the Dumbo ride. We sat in a little rocket and zoomed up into the sky. Miss L was giddy - we went so high and she was in control of the thruster!
We finally managed to get the train which goes all around the park. A beautiful old steam train (well it looks like one!).
It was magical going around at dusk. Beautiful!
We said our goodbyes to Nana and Papa who are going home in the morning and set off for home. Via McDonalds!

Holiday backblips start here.
