Coombe Cellars

Here I am again on the other side of the river which has along distance footpath (The Templer Way) running along it, whereas on our side you have to take your chances! I know from previous comments that DevonDumpling will like to see this view.

It's Coombe Cellars and going back in time it was a base for the local fishing industry, when it had storage facilities. It was also used as a drop off point for smugglers. It is the setting for the novel 'Kitty Alone' by the Victorian writer Sabine Baring-Gould. That's what Wikipedia says anyway. These days is a large pub which is always heaving in the summer months. The sailing club is behind it and around high tide it's nice to see the little flotilla out there doing whatever it is that sailors do. There's another view here.

I hope your Saturday's been good.

David
