LAST HOME GAME

Today was the last home game for Newcastle United. The weather was OK - not warm, not cold - just OK. The football was OK too - not wonderful - but Newcastle actually managed to score 3 goals. Final score Newcastle 3 Cardiff 0. Cardiff are now relegated to the Championship.

Before the match Newcastle fans were encouraged on Social Media to protest against the owner and management of the club by having a mass exodus on the 69th minute. This time was chosen as 1969 was the last time Newcastle won a trophy. However only about 4,000 of the 50,000 supporters actually left the ground on the 69th minute. I had no intention of leaving - I will support the team through thick and thin and I would rather stay and watch the football.

With it being the last game the team did a lap of honour after the match. Its great to see the players walk around with their children. The manager Alan Pardew usually walks round with his team but today he was conspicuous by his absence.

I took loads of shots of various players with their children but I liked this one the best. I think this little lad is the son of Ryan Taylor. Poor Ryan has been out of the team since August 2012 - injured. ( torn cruciate ligament in his right knee)

Popped into Waitrose and Tesco after the match and then home for Britain's Got Talent. Couple of good acts on tonight.
