Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

The Evidence

Autumn's leftovers are now winter treats. After America's November Thanksgiving holiday, we brought home the pumpkins used for decorations and put them in the backyard. Yesterday squirrels from the meadowland behind our house found them . . . and the feast began!

Today I realized they were about to devour another of the pumpkins, so before they did I walked out into the bright afternoon sun to capture a shot of the evidence. It was the first time I had the opportunity to see how thoroughly the squirrels had cleaned the inside of that pumpkin.

Yesterday at one moment all we could see was the tail of the squirrel sticking out of that pumpkin. It would have been a fun photo, but my "point and shoot" just wouldn't capture it.

This photo also reveals that we still had tomatoes ripening on the vine. Actually we had two of them (tap the magnifying glass above to see the "big" image).

Later in the afternoon both of those tomatoes were gone. I guess the squirrels took them to add a little spice to their pumpkin feast.

It is now very, very late. We've been in Orange County having a feast at Scott & Peg's house. We did not have pumpkin, but we did have a delicious garden fresh salad, twice baked potatoes, and grilled salmon from Alaska. Yum!

Scott & Peg are brand new members here on Blipfoto. They have an amazing dog, and often you'll find them on the water.

So now in the wee hours of Friday morning,
I'll say good night from Southern California.
