Good Deed for the Day

Market day again today as always on a Tuesday, and we did not disappoint the market as we were able to make a few fairly minor acquisitions. After visiting the market we stopped off for lunch at one of the lakeside bars. By coincidence the two ladies on the left of this photograph were sitting at the table next to us. They turned out to be from the USA, though the lady with the long hair had fairly recent (grandparents) European connections, not so unusual I suppose.

After lunch we bought an ice-cream, when I was about to sit down on the bench outside the shop I saw there was a wallet there. I took it in to the proprietor thinking there might be a chance somebody might realise they had lost it near his shop. Luckily the wallet contained the owner's ID card, and the shop proprietor knew the individual whose wallet it was. It belonged to one of the stall holders who had come in for an ice-cream before packing up. A couple of phone calls and he was found, and was somewhat relieved to recover his wallet. In some ways I got the impression he was more worried about his ID card than the not inconsiderable amount of money in the wallet, his morning's takings I presume.
