The Edge of the Wold

Tatty blue

This is the first common blue butterfly I have seen in the Cowslip field this year, and it was looking a little moth-eaten. Despite the fine warm weather there were few butterflies flying on the Knott today.

Moth-eaten was one of the themes of the last few days when I was staying in Dr T's new house in South Wales. We saw a couple of small moths in the house with white thoraxes, a quick Google identified them as white-shouldered moths, one of the species that eat wool and other natural materials. Dr T started fearing for his brand new woollen carpets.

Gus and I arrived home late last night after a drive home through mid-Wales, having abandoned Dr T in Hay-on-Wye, trusting to buses to find his way home. In the event, he was home just before I arrived here.

Wifie has arrived home from her retreat in Scotland, and Gus is a very happy boy. I will try and back-blip a couple of days from the week, as Gus had some new adventures.
