Queen's Baton Relay...

It's been quite a day!

Andrew and Alan were awake at 5.30am laughing and carrying on. David went downstairs and put a stop to that. Spoilsport :-)) They went back to sleep till 9.30.

Then we were all up and organised in time for the Queen's Baton coming down our street just after 11.15am. Thankfully the sun was shining otherwise I'd have been photographing it from the spare room upstairs! :) and everyone was in good spirits.

One minute we were the arrival of the Baton, then it was here and then it was gone!

Roger, the Baton Holder (for our section of road) made a beeline for Alan and Andrew and posed for photos and let them hold the baton. More photos HERE. What a lovely man.

Once the entourage had passed and we had exhausted ourselves waving our flags, it was inside for a mountain of eggy toast (Andrew had four slices!) and some homemade Malteser cake to complete the celebration.

The sun continued shining so we piled into the car after lunch and headed to St Fillians for some delicious Orkney ice cream. By this point it was pouring rain! Decided to head back towards Perth as the sky was brighter in that direction and lo and behold, 5 minutes later we were back to blue skies and sunshine.

Andrew wanted a McDonalds when we got to Perth (honestly that lad can eat his own body weight in food every 24 hours! :) then back down the road. More coke and malteser cake and now D is running Andrew home.

Now got to edit the photos from today (thanks to a get together with a blip pal during the week who gave me great guidance, I am now shooting in raw :-)) to send to Andrews mum.

Happy Saturday Peeps :)) xx
