Green moths continued.......

Another good mothing night last night, but whilst I cought a good number of moths there was only 1 new species!
I think my favourite moth though of the 5 I kept was this really lovely Small Emerald (Hemistola chrysoprasaria).
The small emerald occurs in the southern part of the UK, becoming scarce north of the midlands.
It inhabits woodland edges and hedgerows mainly on chalk, which is odd as my garden is neutral. It flies between July and August.
A real beauty I am sure you agree.
