A wonderful musical feast

This is Laura who has been patiently selling programmes at every concert of the Corbridge Music Festival this weekend. They started at £4 on Friday and were down ot £2 today!

This music festival is just wonderful. It is organised by the Gould Piano Trio with Robert Plane, clarinettist, and husband to Lucy Gould. They produce very imaginative programmes and squeeze in a few challenging or unusual pieces amongst more popular fayre.

Last night's La Voix Humaine by Poulence was a highlight, even though we were very tired afterwards and worse this morning! This afternoon we heard a miscellenay of Italian music and this evening a Mendelssohn 'cello concerto, songs by Shostakovitch (they were challenging, and the Schumann piano quintet Op 44. No one wanted the last note to sound.

Mum had an honourable mention in the "thank yous" for her two paintings which were used for the flyers and for the programme and posters. I stole rescued a poster from the church porch on our way home!!
