Pioneer Hall, Lincoln

This lovely little building was first built in 1874 in James Street, and then moved twenty six years later to its current site on the corner of Gerald Street and Kildare Terrace.

If you go large, you may be able to to read the history on the sign.

Some of you may also be interested to know that this is my first blip with my new Fuji X-E1. First impressions are good; image quality and colour seems great (this was shot with the Velvia film simulation mode - just look at those greens and the red of the memorial plough out front!) but I'm struggling a little bit with working out the camera controls. After years of Nikon DSLRs (and yes, I'm still keeping hold of one!) this whole mirror less thing - and a new control paradigm - is just a little bit different.

After a quick test tonight though, I can confirm it's great for night sky photography! Keep an eye out for more in a week or so when the conditions are more favourable!
