Aged Rocker

The Piccadilly Rats were performing in Manchester today.

I met up with Chrissie1butter in town and we had a wander around Dig the City, where we bumped into Tommy0161. We knew he was volunteering so we asked a few 'Dig the City T-shirt clad men' and actually found him by the tent where Diarmuid Gavin was giving a talk. It is always good putting a face to a name.

There were stalls and eateries in St Ann's Square, so we sat in the sunshine and partook of the delights on offer and had a snackette. The police helicopter was hovering overhead as the Palestine supporters were marching down Market Street. The Israelis were on King Street and there were hundreds of police keeping them apart. There were vans, motorbikes and mounted police everywhere. We took a few pics and then headed towards the Cathedral Cafe for lunch.

There were lots of colourful characters in town, but none so colourful as The Piccadilly Rats. Old men with fags hanging out of their mouths danced around. They drew a huge crowd and were hilarious. We sang along, laughed and took shots...well I took shots as Chrissie hadn't charged her camera battery and it conked out...doh!
