A Good Read

What a night! It blew a hooley all night, the wind battered against the lighthouse and it shook everything that was loose so that it kept waking me up. Rachel had to get up in the night to retrieve the body boards that were in danger of being blown to Ireland. The wires of the huge aerial hummed and sang in the hands of the blustering wind...it reminds me of the ropes that held the house down in The Shipping News.

I walked to the end point this morning and I have to say it was a bit hairy. The sea was churning and spray was flying right up over the headland. We decided to head across the island to see if there were any big waves on Rosneigr beach for the boys to do some body boarding.

It is a fabulous beach and by the time we arrived the sun was out, the sky was blue and it turned into a glorious day. I now have a face the colour of a tomato!

There was another spectacular sunset this evening too. What more could you ask for.
