Official Opening of the Gin Palace...

How lovely to see a return to the sunshine after a very cold week.

Ele and Kenny arrived and treated D and me to lunch at the golf club as the final treat of our 25th Wedding Anniversary. It was lovely. Ele and I sat in the clubhouse and watched them playing the first hole (not very successfully :-) before we headed back over the road.

A decision was made to have a BBQ for dinner so whilst Ele headed off to the Co-op to get the necessary food, I prepared a large jug of Pimms and when she returned, we headed off to the Gin Palace. Ended up sitting outside as the sun was so lovely and warm.

The guys returned from golf, the BBQ was fired up, wine was poured and we toasted the opening of the Gin Palace (I know it should have been gin but we don't discriminate against other alcoholic beverages in the Gin Palace. All welcome here :)

Unfortunately we forgot the nights are now drawing in so it was dark by the time the food was ready but since (according to D) there are as many lights decorating the GP as Blackpool's Golden Mile, the darkness wasn't a problem.

Great time had. Just a pity it was Sunday night though and three out of the four of us are working tomorrow, or it could have been a very late one! Next time :D
