Roses in the school yard

The boys spilled onto the school steps smiling. They had brand new friends to play with. Beyond, giant hibiscus were showering the pavement with radiant petals, tiny insects leaving even smaller black lines along their paths.

It was a good place to just watch them, talking to the new friend's mother, against a wall dappled with the swaying hibiscus branches as the four children jumped up as high as their legs would carry them to the flowers. Quite beautiful.

A rose that smells as gorgeous as it looks, now that's a treat. And here, in the school grounds, this joyful site awaits us each morning. How fortunate we are to be here, here and now.

Paolo's birthday party awaited, by now, running late, we set off to the park where thumping summertime music and a huge crowd had gathered for a different school's party alongside us. A happy ambience in the air, children shooting round and round on scooters and bikes, dizzy with pizza and doughnuts in their tummies.

Here in this image, my favourite colours collide. Can you guess them?
