in Boston! view large
I must say I love this painting and am so glad I took this photo. The film installation we went to see at the ICA in Boston was really so cool. Called "Visitors" it was created by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson. Decklin & Tina went to Iceland for their Honeymoon! There were 9 different large film screens playing in a large room; 7 on the walls and 2 back to back in the center. Kjartansson filmed a number of musicians playing a folk song with various instruments and singing in different rooms while listening to each other on headphones. Each screen was showing a different room and the muscians as they move from room to room. Set in a ornate old farmhouse in Vermont. Lovely day, interesting exhibits, fun to be with my boys/family ...

After going to this we decided to stop off at an outside "pop-up" market called American Field at my son Dallas' suggestion. Everything there was hand made in the USA. Now, remember that Steven's brother Marshall is visiting him down in Florida? Who do we run into at this market? Marshall's son, Marshall who hand makes spectacular denim jeans: The Hartford Denim Company -The link is a short video about the company. Young Marshall starts speaking at about 1:49. They show a bit of their process and tell how they got started. Hartford is the capital of the state of Connecticut where Steven & I grew up. When we went to the outdoor market, we did not know that Marshall was going to be there; it was very wild : )) Of course I called Steven and Marshall's dad back in FL as soon as we left the market. Then two stops for groceries and home to Decklin & Tina's for a wonderful dinner.

Tomorrow is my big overnight journey across the sea, so I will catch up with you on the flip side -in Scotland, hopefully on Tuesday.
