An ordinary life....

Wilting Wisteria...

Woke at 7am to a cold, wet and windy day. Yuk.

One of Alan's support workers was supposed to start at 9am but she didn't appear. I was quite worried as it's not like her not to phone or text me if there's a problem. Luckily Ed had been here on an overnight stay so he stayed on and got Alan up and showered. Texted Rachel at the management company to see if she had heard from A. She hadn't.

By 10.00am I was really worried as the weather outside was terrible and I was worried she'd been in an accident. Then a little thought came into my head.... A was on holiday last week and although Rachel has put her on the rota for this week, I wondered if she was actually on holiday for two weeks rather than one.

Gill came in to start her shift with Alan and checked the time sheets and sure enough, A is still on holiday this week. Phew! Glad there was a happy outcome to the mystery.

The rest of today has been spent cooking the mountain of mince that Tesco delivered on Friday. Almost 4kgs of the stuff! It has been converted into a huge pot of bolognaise and a huge pot of chilli. Will come in handy over the next two weeks when right hand will be recovering from op.

Ele on her way back here (she was working today), roast chicken in the oven for tonight's dinner, wine in the fridge and chocolate truffles for later. Not looking too shabby for a Monday night.
