CCC: Cup-and-Saucer Vine

More fascinating beading and venation in large ("L").

I found this rather wonderful plant growing up the city wall at the back of the main garden in Corpus. It is Cobaea scandens (a.k.a. cup-and-saucer vine) and I love the way that the flowers develop as little lantern-shaped buds before opening up. I've uploaded a few different flowers in various stages of their blooming cycle: bud, opening, another open one. I've also uploaded an image of a ladybird nestling behind the head of a yellow and orange sunflower.
