Robin

We went to do a bit of winter maintenance of the holiday lodge this morning. The job I wanted to do was to mark out a flower bed for spring flowering plants and bulbs. This is on a steep bank outside the kitchen window. It's a project I've had in mind for years but, now that I've bought the bulbs, it has to happen!

While we were working this robin kept flying over to the ornamental Sambucus nigra, fluttering and returning to the fence. I went for the camera and of course that was the cue for it to find someone else's garden.

Just as we were packing up the robin returned and, to my amazement, when I zoomed in, I noticed it had a berry in its beak. So that was the attraction to this bush!
