THE POWER OF BLESSING

We had a good service at church this morning when Stephen brought together all the things we had been learning about blessings in the last couple of months - and at the end of the service we were given the authority to go out and bless all those with whom we come into contact - because when we do, we ourselves are blessed.

On our way home, we saw Margaret striding along - we didn't offer her a lift, because we guessed she was out for her daily walk, but did stop to chat with her.

Margaret definitely blesses those around her and nearly always has a huge smile on her face, so when I asked her to put her hat on, so that I could take a photograph of her, she kindly obliged, smiling and telling me that she wouldn't do this for everyone, but she would for me - so Blip sorted!

Margaret's husband has had multiple sclerosis for many years so she has been his carer and I am sure has blessed him. She is a devoted mother and grandmother, and again, I am sure she blesses her family.

She was a helper at the Lunch Club where Mr. HCB used to help and they always got on very well together. Margaret is one of those people who just "gets on with things" and everywhere she goes, blessings follow.

I pray blessing on everyone who reads this and hope you will be further blessed whilst listening to one of my favourite songs sung by Matt Redman "Benediction".

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord smile on you,
shine His light upon you.
May the Lord lift you,
turn His face towards you.
Give you His peace,
give you His peace.
