Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

It's Wednesday so the 'Whistle Walkers were out

The forecast was horrid for today but there were still 21 of us on the long walk. We started at Baybridge near Blanchland and did an 8 mile walk across the moors, visiting 2 old industrial chimneys and the Sikehead Dam on our way. The mist was pretty low at the beginning but did start to thin out. This shot was taken on our way downhill - "all the difficult bits are over now" said Lil, our leader.

She had learned other bits of walk leader speak, but did provide jelly babies and led us confidently across the moors. She is now a marked woman and will be leading festival walks before she knows it!!
