Flying The Flag

I celebrate my 100th blip today so I decided to fly the flag.

Not me personally, you understand. This Union flag, or Union Jack as it is more commonly known, flies alongside the Stars and Stripes at a military gallery and shop called Troops of Time, located on Copeland Street, in Riverside.

The British flag was also in keeping with the British style weather Jacksonville experienced today. It reminded me of summer days back in Britain -- warm but overcast. Thankfully, we were spared the rain that usually accompanies the British version.

"Fly the flag" was also an advertising slogan for British Airways and today it was announced that flights would resume in Britain tomorrow. The country, along with the rest of northern Europe, has been a no-fly zone following the huge cloud of volcanic ash expelled by the Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption in Iceland last week.

So flying the flag seemed an apt choice for today's picture in more ways than one.
