The Great British Summer

We decided we had to get out of the house today and thought the weather would be good enough for a walk to the beach after yesterdays walk was abandoned half way there due to rain.

Typically just after we got down to the beach it started raining, and did not stop until after we got home late this afternoon.

It was important to get out today though as the toddler set a new record last night for her longest sleep hitting over fourteen hours. However this has meant she had more energy than a Duracell today and so she needed some exercise with a long walk. Even this, though has not been enough, she is currently climbing on the table and is still full of beans.

Basically all that sleep has turned her into a maniac.

So on the long walk along the beach in the rain I spotted this classic casualty of a British (wet) summer day on the beach so had to blip it. I think it is choc mint chip flavour from previous experience and I suspect there was a very disappointed child not to far from his or her fallen ice cream.

Luckily it was not my child who was disappointed, the last this she needed today was any sugary treats.

Parenting is crazy, even when you get extra sleep it just ends up causing extra exertion and so you still end up absolutely shattered.
