Swimming Against The Tide

Moving House

Today was a big day for this very handsome boy - he has now moved from his city flat into his new country pad, complete with garden, field, and lots of things to chase and hunt! Here he is, just before he left his old place, sitting on the piano stool relaxing before his journey!

Yes, our family is finally complete! Dexter has moved in with us today. We're totally honoured that his former human, who loves him very very much, has entrusted him to our care, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that he has a wonderful life out here in the countryside. We're already besotted with him - he's so devastatingly handsome, and he'll have us wrapped round his paws in no time.

He's currently in the utility room in the security of the cage while he gets used to all the new smells and sounds that surround him. I'm terribly impatient to have him out and about in the house, but I know I must wait for him to get used to having other cat smells, and then other cats around him in his own time - we take things at his pace, not ours. He's enjoyed high tea of prawns and cat treats, and everyone will have a little duck tonight to celebrate his arrival!

For us humans it's been an exhausting day. Getting to bed at 3.30 a.m. after Muse last night didn't help either (the setlist is here if you're interested). The Wonderspouse made breakfast while I whizzed to the shops for essential bits & bobs (duck) and then we journeyed to the big city to collect Dexter.

In other news, today I'm celebrating the 9th anniversary of The Big One. It's a day on which I am particularly thankful to be still alive.

What better way to celebrate than by adopting a beautiful boy!

Welcome to the family Dexter! :-)
