Swimming Against The Tide

Cat Cubbyhole

Today, like last Tuesday, has been a day where we didn't HAVE to do anything. Consequently, it has been another day of rest and TV. The Wonderspouse bravely tolerated me watching the Pope this morning (I'm not religious, I just really like the music and the ceremony and find the whole thing quite interesting), then we dozed through Octopussy and Midsomer Murders, waking only for a fry-up for lunch!

The really big news of the day, however, has been that Dexter has spent the whole day out of his cage exploring the house, which has been WONDERFUL! He's had loads of cuddles and snuggles and been round the whole house sniffing every little nook and cranny!

Here he is, in a small bookcase/shelf unit, which is empty because I plan to paint it at some unspecified point in the future. Like all cats he likes going IN places! Bless him. He's very handsome, and, we've noticed, has a very appealing habit of sitting with his head slightly to one side, which is exceptionally cute! He's also a really sweet smelling cat, just like Tiggy - stripes seem to go with excellent washing skills round here!

At some point I shall have to tackle the mountain of papers on my desk and finish The Great House Sort (which is so near to its end), but having a day like today is lovely - Wonderspouse & I dozing on our sofas, Felix under his favourite bush in the garden, Tiggy on the corner of the lawn, Pebbles on the blue crinkly bag, Smudge on the corner of the spare bed, and Dexter sniffing his new home and finding a little place to sit!
