The bench

Back today for another snap of this view. Last time it was all a lot more grey and cloudier, today the sky was blue and the tops of the Ochil Hills weren't hidden in amongst it all.

I'd asked Euan along to add an extra element to the picture, although I didn't say to him at the time I'd planned a nice walk for us in the autumn sunshine. He has a habit of mumping and moaning about these little excursions we take, but, without fail, by the end of it he's always had a great time, and today was exactly the same. And anyway, the 4 mile hike would take his mind off the PS3 he's currently barred from due to picking up his first D1 at school this week (that's a detention in old money).

Hard to think too that a couple of hundred yards to the right of this bench last Saturday a horrific car accident saw a young dad lose his life. As we walked past the tributes left at the crash site and the Police incident signs asking for witnesses, time after time cars (and a motorcycle) flew past and some still pulled out to overtake traffic that was by no means travelling slowly. Sadly, I don't think last week's incident will be the last time the emergency services will be attending this stretch of road. What's the hurry with everyone nowadays?

Anyway, cider's in the fridge and the whisky supplies have been replenished (I ran out of this last week. I've never ran out of whisky before. It was almost an international incident and I had to resort to drinking brandy. Never again I tell you).

Have a good Saturday all, whatever it is your tipple will be (just check there's enough to last!).
