Not only have we entered the 'dark half' of the year but the drive home tonight was a completely unnecessary dotting the 'i' and crossing the 't' of 'winter' on someone's part. The rain was battering down, the roads were flooded and traffic was horrendous (as well as just a wee bit mad at times).

And it all started so well too. Driving across the River Forth this morning was a real distraction as the sun shone through a rolling fog on the Forth and Grangemouth here looked like some 1970s Roger Dean album cover. Found it hard to concentrate on driving with the old Kincardine Bridge silhouetted through the fog and against the low sun. Couldn't resist stopping off for a few shots, and it was really nice to get the first blip of the week in the bag before I was even fully awake.
