Birthday Lunch

This morning we returned to proper early starts since we've had no more snow and we were confident the roads would be OK. After dropping the Wonderspouse at the bus stop I did some admin work at my desk and then set out to Scharwenka's house for his birthday celebrations!

He thoroughly enjoyed opening all his parcels and seemed to be very pleased with them all (and very amused by some of them too). Many were sheep-based, some were stationery-based, and many were just pure entertainment!

After parcels we had this rather splendid lunch of garlic prawns (which are quite traditional food for us to eat together). We also had a taste of some of the good wine from his previous day's celebrations, ate some good cheese, and some very naughty chocolate fudge brownie cake with cream!

Then we popped to Sainsbury's to do a bit of shopping (including the first stores ready for our Christmas lunch together), before having tea and cake!

A very good day indeed, and very fun birthday celebrations!

Oh, and yes, the parcels are opened in order (hence the numbers - see yesterday's blip). This means that some of the very cheap very fun parcels happen at the beginning and the better more serious presents come towards the end!
